Last Saturday at the South Gippsland Secondary College oval, Corner Inlet Little Athletics began the new season for 2016/17. We had a good turn up for our first meet with plenty of new faces and eager athletes. After a warm up and skills session, we commenced with 800m. The younger athletes cruised along nicely for a first event. We then completed event rotations before the weather turned. Our encouragement awards this week were –
Running – Lucas for his fantastic effort in all track events today
Throwing – Kashen for listening and demonstrating correct discus technique at his first session
Jumping – Ava for jumping as high and as far as she could, for her first session
Our next meet this Saturday @ 9am at the SGSC Oval in Foster. Little Aths is for Children aged 5-15years and the first two sessions are free – come along and join us next week.
